Roberth Björknesjö is a personal favorite, not least for his sunny energy and personality. He seems to be an incredibly warm person. Previously, he has trained IFK Tumba, Huddinge IF, Väsby IK, Syrianska FC, Värtans IK, Assyriska FF, IF Brommapojkarna, Östers IF, Vasalunds IF, IK Frej, Viggbyholms IK and Djurgårdens IF (success there). Most recently, he was as well-known in Östers IF and unfortunately did not solve it so that they stayed in Allsvenskan last season. Now he takes his first step abroad. He is clear for IFK Mariehamn in Finland and replaces Gary Williams on a contract for the current season. His assistant coach will be Daniel Sjölund and Jimmy Wargh. Goalkeeper coach is Johan Sundman and fitness coach is Jesper Lehtinen. – It feels very inspiring to get the opportunity to work abroad and meet new opponents. I have looked at a number of the team's matches and focused a lot on structure, approach and priorities, both defensively and offensively. Now I look forward to putting my mark on the team and implementing the principles that I believe can help us take the next step, says Roberth Björknesjö. He continues: – I am a positive coach who always focuses on opportunities. For me, it is important to give both players and leaders great trust and create an environment where people can perform at their highest level. Football-wise, I want to see a team that is offensive, bold and aggressive in its defensive play, while we play with energy and forward momentum. He does not know much about the club yet. – I know that the club won the league title in 2016, and I have also trained Gabriel Petrovic during my time in Brommapojkarna. Now I look forward to getting to know the club, the people around the club and the supporters even better. The goal is clear. – We will do everything we can to get the most out of this group. My task is to help both players and leaders to perform at their highest level, so that we together can achieve the result we want to achieve. I hope that the supporters will close behind the team already next Saturday when we meet IF Gnistan at home. The hope is that the audience will get to see a bold, energetic and forward-looking IFK Mariehamn. During his playing career, the 53-year-old was in Högdalens AIS, IFK Tumba, Norsborgs IF, Djurgårdens IF, Vasalunds IF and AIK. IFK Mariehamn is currently last in the series. In the club, a lot of Swedes also play, including Kevin Lund, Pontus Lindgren, Adam Stroud, Nikolaos Dosis and Adam Larsson.
