Oliver Berg: Malmö FF Has Done Right by Appointing Gaute Helstrup
Former Malmö FF player Oliver Berg shares his thoughts on the club's performance under new manager Gaute Helstrup. The Norrmann believes that Malmö FF can turn their form around with this new appointment.
Berg's Opinion on Malmö FF's Season
Berg left Malmö FF for IF Brommapojkarna ahead of the 2023 season. He has now established himself in the starting lineup, scoring three goals and providing four assists across twelve matches in Allsvenskan.
– It is clear that both they and others thought they would do better. There is always an expectation for Malmö to be the best team in Sweden. They clearly had higher hopes, he tells Sydsvenskan.
Berg's Conviction about Helstrup's Coaching Choice
At 32 years old, Berg sees the underperformance as a sign of things to come and believes that Malmö FF can turn their trend around with Gaute Helstrups leadership.
– But I believe Malmö has done right by appointing their new manager. We will see if they succeed, but I think the team will reverse this trend rather quickly, he tells Sydsvenskan.
MFF's Position in Allsvenskan
Malmö FF currently sits at eighth place in Allsvenskan after 14 rounds. The Norrmann believes that the club can turn their form around under Gaute Helstrups leadership.
